Tully CANEGROWERS Ltd is a not-for-profit company that provides membership services in the Tully Region. The region is centrally located between Townsville and Cairns, the commercial and administrative regional hubs for North Queensland, and 20 minutes from Mission Beach.

Tully CANEGROWERS Ltd is an autonomous but integral part of the network of CANEGROWERS companies in Queensland. CANEGROWERS has been advancing and protecting the interests of cane farming families in Queensland since 1925.

Our members have large and small farms, are individuals, families, and corporate bodies. We draw on this diversity as we set priorities to achieve our vision of a secure and profitable future.

In addition to supporting our local membership services, our team of four provide a BAS accredited payroll service, support for an insurance service to members and provide administration support to a Hardware Cooperative, Productivity Services Company and a small Drainage Board.

We have a strong and active community presence with a responsibility to maintain a high level of communication and engagement via local media and a regular electronic news communication as key tools in keeping our members and community well informed.

• Collaboration with the Board in the development of organisational strategy and priorities for operational planning, action and advocacy.
• Promotion and support of the CANEGROWERS membership base through innovative business development strategies.
• Recruiting and leading staff to maintain appropriate resources to fulfil the operational requirements of the organisation.
• Coordinating communications to members, stakeholders and the local community
• Monitoring and directing business performance using forecasts, budgets and targets with regular reporting to the Board.
• Supporting CANEGROWERS Tully Board to progress members' best interests by advocating for growers and guiding members on industry matters
• Holding the position of Company Secretary for Three entities.
• Working closely with CANEGROWERS Queensland and from time to time participate in strategic programs and initiatives delivering benefits to members and the industry as a whole.

• Experience as a Senior Manager reporting to a Board.
• A strong understanding of the application of corporate governance principles.
• Clear communication skills and the capacity to develop a strong local presence to act as the public face of the CANEGROWERS Tully organisation.
• Experience in negotiation, collaboration and the management of stakeholder relationships.
• Understanding of policy development, government relations and business management.
• Relevant Degree qualification and experience working in an agricultural environment would be highly regarded.
• Experience working in a membership-based organisation would be highly regarded.
