Wayne has been an important member of the CANEGROWERS team since he joined the organisation in June 2015. With his background in journalism and multimedia communications, he’s made a significant impact on how the industry stays informed and connected.

Before stepping into his current role as Communications Manager in 2022, Wayne served as the Editor of the flagship publication, Australian Canegrower. In 2016, he led a bold redesign of the magazine, transforming it into a more engaging read for growers. By 2020, he took it to the next level, launching it as a more comprehensive monthly magazine.

Wayne now leads a dynamic team of communications experts, keeping growers in the loop with timely updates and critical industry news.

Originally from Ireland, Wayne holds a degree in journalism and media communication. He started his career as a local reporter before moving on to one of Ireland's leading daily newspapers. In 2007, he made the leap to Australia, bringing his expertise to corporate communications within the not-for-profit sector, while also running his own publishing business.
