Mick Quirk is the Environment and Sustainability Manager at CANEGROWERS. Mick's key areas include catchment water quality, climate change, environmental regulations, incentive programs, environmental markets, Smartcane BMP, sustainable sourcing, biosecurity, and chemical and fertiliser stewardship.

Mick started at CANEGROWERS in 2015 and spent three and a half years as the Smartcane BMP Program Manager. He is highly qualified, having experience as an R&D project manager with Meat and Livestock Australia, several years as a private agricultural consultant, a native vegetation and biodiversity consultant to Land and Water Australia, and multiple roles around science and sustainability within the Queensland Department of Primary Industries.

Mick has a Ph.D in rangeland ecology, a Masters of Agricultural Science and a Bachelor of Ag Science.
